Satriani is from New York originally and now resides in the Bay Area where he plays the national anthem before 49ers and Giants games as well as the Oakland A's. He has released 11 solo albums and has had 13 Grammy nominations. He has sold over 7 million copies worldwide and “Surfing with the Alien” became the first instrumental guitar album to make it to the Top 40 charts. Satriani has written his own material as well as that for other famous players such as Deep Purple, Mick Jagger, Alice Cooper and Spinal Tap. Joe taught many students that would grow up to become starts themselves such as Steve Vai, Kirk Hammett (Metallica), Charlie Hunter and David Bryson (Counting Crows). |

Personal Joe has been playing since he was 14 years old. He taught himself guitar and also teaches many other players. Joe is great inspiration to anyone who wants to teach themselves. He is the perfect example of talent, hard work and perseverance. Satriani spends a lot of time touring and except for a case of pneumonia last in 2004, he continues to tour even today. Music is such an important part of Satriani's life. Everything he does revolves around this love for music.
